That scene in Bridesmaids — Maya Rudolph, white dress, pavement — you don’t want that on your wedding day.
Say “I do” to Mignonette, a bridal salon opening today in West Lakeview.
Credit owner/designer Kpoene’ Kofi-Bruce for the shop’s warmth: The space has a fireplace in the dressing room (naturally), exposed brick, reclaimed wood fixtures, and an overall sense of calm.
In addition to her own line of feminine, custom gowns, Kofi-Bruce sells Lovey Bridal (Isha Webb designed the collection especially for the shop), My Lavaliere hair accessories, stationery from The Sweet Unfolding, Midnight Gypsy perfume, Bonnie - Naturally Nourishing Body and Bath goods, and a selection of vintage menswear from HumbleCollective.
Peruse the resource library for vendors, then meet them in Mignonette’s dedicated office (no one wants to fight Mom at Starbucks).
Coming soon: courtyard photo shoots and DIY fascinator classes.
One thing’s certain: This place is no dump.
Mignonette Bridal, 1747 West Belmont Avenue, at Ravenswood Avenue (773-880-9141 or mignonettebridal.com).
