Moving cross-country is tough.
Unless you’re an overachiever who uses travels as inspiration.
Chicagoan-by-way-of-California textile designer Samantha Cisneros of Shapes & Colors Textiles did just that. Her organic cotton, hemp, and linen home accessories (wallpaper, pillows, coasters, and place mats) take cues from the Bay Area’s misty coastline, the Windy City’s vast sunsets, Santa Fe’s Native American patterns, and everything in between.
Cisneros individually silk-screens the earthy fabrics with trippy silhouettes and vivid geometric images, then sews them together.
Fiesta dish towels burst with a mash-up of ancient Mexican cylindrical stamps and midcentury-modern design. Rain Fall-printed coasters pop in Dijon, tomato, and navy hues. Whip out the Polka Mini napkin set for dinner parties.
She does custom design for homes and offices, too.
It’s out of this world.
