The last time you made a card, a friend mistook your doodled birthday cake for an elephant.
Let the talented kids at Marwen show you how it’s done. For more than twenty years, the nonprofit has offered underprivileged Chicago youth free art classes in its state-of-the-art Near North Side studios.
This year ten students partnered with local designers Kelly Kaminski (Grip Design) and Angee Lennard (Spudnik Press) to create a line of greeting cards around the seasons.
Their fun, vibrant Marwen Made ’Em collection incorporates bright colors, clean lines, and urban scenery — images so fresh that Rahm Emanuel chose one for his inaugural logo. On the back of each card, the artist’s photo and bio give a personal touch.
All proceeds support the nonprofit’s programming.
They have our stamp of approval.
