3.141592noonecares. Not when there’s edible pie to talk about.
Head to Bridgeport’s Pleasant House Bakery for a slice that numbers among the best we’ve tried.
If you’re not charmed by the British-flecked voice mail, homegrown mentality (the staff tends to several urban plots), and array of house-made bath and shower products (rosemary and preserved Meyer lemon bath salt, basil oregano soap), you deserve a pie in the face.
Try the steak and ale, packed with all-natural beef and herbs. Or chicken balti, a blend of spicy curry, tomato, and free-range bird. There’s a vegetarian option, too (kale, mushroom, white wine).
Douse sausage and mash with coriander chutney; dip thick-cut potato chips in rich gravy; go all out with a Scotch egg; slurp hibiscus soda; and take a pasty (old-fashioned meat pie) to go.
High tea and Sunday brunch coming soon. Looks like you’ve met your math.
