Hot Temper

Rich. Sweet. Good-looking. Well-traveled.

The guy you went out with last weekend? Don’t you wish. More likely it’s the selection at Temper Chocolates, a new shop from local chocolatier Caroline Yeh.

Yeh, who worked as a pastry cook at New York City’s Gotham Bar & Grill before spending a year scouring the world for the best chocolate around (right at the top of our Tough Jobs list), wanted to create a haven for serious chocolate lovers.

And that’s exactly what she’s done with Temper — where you’ll find bonbons in surreal but scrumptious flavors like spicy truffle, grapefruit caramel, and Tasmanian honey. Then there are the shop’s decadent hot chocolate, fine pastries, and espresso bar. Coming soon: chocolate education classes, so you, too, can wax poetic about Madagascan ganache and Chuao cocoa beans.

Yeh even worked with a noted perfumer to create a line of three signature scents, each with a subtle note of cocoa. Like everything else in the shop, they’re almost irresistible.

Unlike — and we’re just guessing about this — Mr. Last Weekend.
