Ever imagine what Steve McQueen’s sub shop would have looked like? Neither have we.
But restaurant and nightlife vets Ian Jones and Caleb Wheelus (Halo, Slice Downtown, Food Studio) transformed a former pizza joint into the casual yet put-together space (rustic wood touches; shellacked, numbered tables; repurposed schoolhouse chairs) they swear the king of cool would have frequented.
Expect tapas-style sandwiches made with Bakeshop bread (like the Italian meat-heavy Lamborghini), as well as a rotating menu highlighting local, seasonal ingredients. Wash down everything (especially the Cool Chick-en salad) with a frozen Jack and Coke from a Mason jar.
A ping-pong table surrounded by photos of famous folks in action, vintage turntable, and retro European motorbike encourage you to linger.
No leather jacket required.
