When it comes to trendy indie shopping, you’re willing to get down and dirty.
This just in from the retail underground: Bodega at Studio 900 shopping nights, a monthly mish-mash of food, fashion, and coiffing conceived by wardrobe stylist Rosa McWaters and held in an industrial Candler Park space.
Take cash to score vintage and new clothes, shoes, bags, and locally designed jewelry and artwork. And go hungry: McWaters’s sister, Julia LeRoy (BookHouse Pub’s wunderkind chef), serves an Asian-style chicken wing buffet with bubbly and local beer that’s positively addictive.
As if that weren’t enough, hair experts Mimi Lee (Lux Salon), Sharlene Walker (a.k.a. Van Michael’s Chop Chop Charlie), and Christina McCarver (Bella Capelli) will be flat ironing, bang trimming, and dry cutting for about twenty bucks a head.
A small price to pay for good clean fun.
Next event, Thursday, 7-10 p.m., at 900 Dekalb Avenue, Candler Park. For 2010, shop the third Thursday of each month. For sale invite and information, go to facebook.com/bodegaatl.
