Wee earthlings, the world’s future is in your hands.
Whoosh! It’s Captain Planet to the rescue. The cartoon superhero (and mascot of the local enviro-conscious nonprofit Captain Planet Foundation) leaps forth with these ideas for greening your family’s routine.
Help Mom or Dad swap old lightbulbs for energy-efficient compact fluorescent ones. Don’t forget to turn off the lights when you leave the room (toys aren’t afraid of the dark).
Be Classy, Not Trashy
Work toward making your home tree free. Pack lunch in reusable containers and replace paper towels and napkins with cloth ones. Go for a walk and pick up litter along the way.
Call It a Wash
Use a timer to clock showers at three minutes to conserve water. And turn off the faucet while brushing teeth.
Another courageous kiddo saves the day.
