You’re no stranger to bulking up. (That’s what Sam’s and Kroger Plus cards are for.)
But your body? Not since you heard that bench presses could put hair on your chest.
Studio Lotus’s new kettlebell workouts might be more your thing.
Originally seen in Russian marketplaces in the 1800s (and in every Strongman competition since), kettlebells are a low-impact alternative to weight lifting. The small, dense balls provide intense cardio and interval conditioning — without adding bulk.
The intro session is a killer (prepare for soreness), but your body will adapt quickly to the controlled, centripetal motion-based lifts and rotations.
By the time you’ve mastered advanced reps (Turkish getups, military crawls, and modified Pilates crunches), you’ll have the heightened endurance and leaner, stronger muscles of regular kettlebellers.
And you’ll feel worth your weight in gold.
Studio Lotus, 1145 Zonolite Road, suite 13, Zonolite District (404-817-0900 or studiolotus.com). Classes start February 21.
